ASIO is looking for proactive individuals capable of performing a range of business analysis related duties. You will contribute to ASIO's mission through working with project managers, technical experts and business stakeholders at all levels to investigate, analyse, validate and document business, user and non-functional requirements. You will guide technology change through all stages of the project lifecycle and play a key role in transitioning ASIO staff to new ways of working. You will have the ability to drive and manage projects and requirements from inception to delivery. As a pivotal part of cross-functional multi-disciplinary teams, you will use a broad range of Business Analysis techniques to: Define business problems. Understand business teams current state. Lead user acceptance testing. Support technical and business teams through implementation and adoption. Role responsibilities As a Business Analyst, your role will include but may not be limited to: Being accountable for investigating business needs, problems and opportunities to support and recommend effective business and ICT changes. Developing artefacts to support the requirements definition such as requirements specifications, process models, operational concepts, prototypes and data driven insights. Building relationships and working collaboratively with stakeholders by facilitating workshops, stakeholder interviews, presentations, product backlog management and user acceptance testing. Contributing to and managing activities for planning, development, enhancement and implementation of projects and systems. Identifying issues, risks and benefits of current and proposed solutions and applying expertise to detail the resulting impacts to business. Leading and supporting business transition to embed change. Continually developing the business analysis competency within the Organisation. Enthusiasm and a desire to learn the business analyst role, whilst providing support to ongoing projects. Ability to develop/apply business analysis deliverables, tools and techniques in a range of contexts. Resilience and adaptability to change of analysis approaches in an unpredictable environment. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team. Experience in developing stakeholder/client engagement at a variety of levels. Effective communication skills and the ability to engage, influence and negotiate with others. Experience in workshop facilitation, interviews and delivering engaging presentations. Experience in enhancing, delivering and promoting ICT services. Management and leadership experience (as required). Qualifications or experience Demonstratable knowledge or experience of business analyst principles and practices. The following qualifications or experience, while not essential, are desirable: Experience within the area of ICT is highly regarded. Familiarity with the International Institute of Business Analysis BABOK Guide, and its concepts and techniques. Membership of the Australian Chapter of the International Business Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). Undergraduate study in information technology and/or courses in business or business analytics. We will provide additional training if required.
