The Finance Officer plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial operations, regulatory compliance and the timely processing of payroll and accounts payable & receivable.About UsMRAC is a culturally sensitive organisation that owns and manages over 120 properties in the Midwest Gascoyne area. We use our rental income to improve properties, buy new homes and secure the Corporation's financial position and future.About YouTo thrive in this role, you'll exhibit the ability to work independently, have 3+ years in finance, with strong knowledge of all related legislative requirements. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, you'll have demonstrated experience in payroll processing and financial reporting.You pride yourself on accuracy, spotting errors and resolving them swiftly. You handle pressure well and are able to prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines.Tasks & ResponsibilitiesManage accounts payable and receivable.Process payroll and maintain accurate up-to-date financial records, ensuring all actions taken are in accordance with policies, procedures, guidelines and relevant legislation.Maintain accurate financial records and assist in preparing for external audits to ensure compliance with statutory and government requirements.Execute end-of-month processing, including journal entries, accruals and prepayments.Prepare monthly, quarterly or annual financial reports, ensuring journals, reconciliations and reports are conducted accurately and within set deadlines.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business planning.Identify opportunities and work with the team to improve systems and procedures relevant to the position to ensure better practice standards are achieved.Skills & ExperienceQualification in finance or business or an equivalent level of experience in a similar role.Sound knowledge of accounting practices and GST legislation relating to accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliations.Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems (e.g. MYOB) and the ability to accurately interpret and process data.Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset.Strong written and verbal communication skills, ideally with the ability to explain financial data in everyday language.Ability to work collaboratively within the team and across departments.Ability to identify areas for improvement and proactively implement solutions.Strong focus on attention to detail, accuracy, time management skills and ability to establish priorities.Strong work ethic and commitment to ethical practices, professional presentation and a commitment to flexibility in the workplace.Working rights in Australia as an Australia/New Zealand citizen or holding a relevant visa.Hold, or be eligible to complete, a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector is advantageous.How to ApplyTo apply for this opportunity, please submit your Resume and Cover Letter through SEEK, outlining your suitability based on the tasks & responsibilities of this role.For enquiries, email ******.
