We provide acute and inpatient treatment for a wide range of clinical conditions, including respiratory support for newborns and stabilisation for infants under 35 weeks gestation.Gladstone is a vibrant regional city on Queensland’s central coast, known for its natural beauty and friendly community, featuring a bustling harbor and access to the Great Barrier Reef.About the role:The Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist provides a high level of paediatric services to the Gladstone Hospital, Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS). Gladstone Hospital services are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner given available resources.The Staff Specialist, with the support of Junior Medical staff, provides an efficient and high-quality paediatric service to Gladstone Hospital. The provision of clinical services for CQHHS is provided as one service at multiple sites. In order to meet service needs, the Staff Specialist may be required to provide clinical services at any facility within the CQHHS, in line with the clinical services capability of that facility.About you:Mandatory qualifications: MBBS or equivalent registration with the Medical Board of Australia.Possession of qualifications and experience appropriate for registration as a Specialist in Paediatrics and Child Health with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).In general, this will require Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP – Paediatrics and Child Health) with preference of holding for 1 year.If the applicant does not hold FRACP – Paediatrics and Child Health, then application must be accompanied by the RACP's assessment of the applicant's specialist qualification and requirements to attain FRACP – Paediatrics and Child Health.Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CPD (Continuing Professional Development) program of appropriate College.What we offer:Salary information:Total remuneration value of up to $528,444 p.a. is comprised of:A salary rate between $210,332 - $244,313 p.a. (L18-L24)A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a.
