Description We are on the hunt for a visionary Communications Manager to join our team and support the delivery of the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP). If you're passionate about leading a talented team, crafting compelling communication strategies, and creating a lasting positive legacy for stakeholders and communities, we want to hear from you As Communications Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Director to implement a comprehensive communications plan. You will lead a dynamic team to ensure seamless delivery of communication activities that not only meet contractual requirements but also elevate the reputation of Downer, the State of Queensland, and the QTMP project. This is a fulltime, permanent role, and will be based in Brisbane, QLD with travel to Maryborough QLD. About the role: Leading a team to deliver high-quality communication collateral across multiple platforms. Ensuring the project meets contractual communication requirements and adhering to brand guidelines for exceptional graphic design. Developing and implementing internal and external communication plans tailored to diverse audiences. Fostering positive, respectful, two-way relationships with stakeholders to share knowledge of project progress and address local concerns. Overseeing the creation of public communications materials, including fact sheets, community newsletters, media statements, and social media content. Preparing regular client reports on communication performance and deliverables. About you: Tertiary qualifications in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline are desirable. 10–15 years’ experience in communications, engagement, or stakeholder management. Proven experience in leading teams and working with stakeholders, preferably within government contracts, infrastructure projects, or public transport industries. Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Suite (e.g., InDesign).
