Your next opportunity awaits at NTRO Our Sustainability & Materials Performance (SMP) team is responsible for the science, research, analysis and advice to clients on a range of important transport infrastructure concerns. NTRO is instrumental in the research and development of recycled materials being applied within the Australian Road & Rail network which is a direct result from the SMP team. The SMP team currently have two vacancies within their business group. These roles can be based in Perth, Melbourne or Brisbane however if you reside outside of these cities and feel that you have the skills and experience that we are looking for, we encourage you to apply! The successful candidates will demonstrate a solid understanding of sustainable transport infrastructure practices, planning and design knowledge. About the roles & you Sustainability/ Environmental Professional Hold a bachelor's or higher qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Science or other relevant areas Relevant experience in lifecycle assessment and environmental impact assessment of using emerging technologies, materials or products Work on projects related to sustainable/ recycled infrastructure materials, waste management and environment management An understanding of climate change risk assessments and climate adaptation practices A true passion to developing and contributing on projects related to sustainability within the transport infrastructure space Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to simplify communication for complex problems An understanding of environmental impact assessments Desired skillset: Experience of dealing with or understanding environmental legislation Experience of dealing with environmental protection agencies or understanding their requirements Relevant practical/commercial experience desired such as capability to undertake contaminated land assessments and remediation etc Sustainable Infrastructure Materials Engineer Hold a bachelor's or higher qualification in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or related engineering and science areas Work on projects related to sustainable/ recycled infrastructure materials, waste management and environment management Continue to develop an understanding of government sustainability policies, environmental regulations, technical and safety risks associated with the use of recycled materials Design and conduct laboratory studies and field trials, interpret and translate scientific and complex results, and communicate them clearly and concisely for a general audience Be passionate about testing and implementing emerging infrastructure materials, contributing to the commercialisation of sustainable materials, and delivering practical outcomes Sound knowledge of road construction and transport corridor materials, including asphalt, concrete and granular materials An understanding of the pathway towards global decarbonisation and outcomes of COP26 including the Paris Agreement Key skills and requirements for both roles Must have 7+ years of relevant experience with a strong understanding of sustainable transport and infrastructure practices Track record of leading the delivery of projects to agreed scope, budget, quality and timetable requirements Highly developed interpersonal skills that allow constructive conversations with a range of public and private sector stakeholders, clients, partners, and colleagues.
