St Columba’s, Springwood is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Religious Education Teacher to join our vibrant school community. About the Role
As a Secondary Religious Education Teacher, you will report to the Principal and be responsible for delivering high-quality, contemporary Religious Education. You will work collaboratively to enrich the faith and academic lives of students, contributing to the Church’s mission and serving as a witness to faith within the school community.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
* Show a strong understanding of the Religious Education curriculum, underpinned by Catholic Theology, including key concepts, skills, pedagogy, and subject-specific literacy.
* Select and adapt learning strategies appropriate to each student’s developmental stage. Encourage students to be active witnesses of their faith, and inspire them in their spiritual and personal growth.
* Develop and implement dynamic and engaging learning programs, negotiating with students to set individual, explicit, and achievable learning goals.
* Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback that supports current and future learning outcomes.
* Be an active member of the school community, working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students to nurture a living faith within the school and broader community.
Key Selection Criteria
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A deep commitment to the Catholic faith and a passion for sharing it with students.
* Proven experience in teaching Religious Education at the secondary level.
* Strong knowledge of the curriculum and theology underpinning Religious Education.
* Accredited with NESA to teach Religious Education
* Demonstrated ability to design and implement engaging and effective learning programs.
* Capacity to challenge students and foster their faith development through appropriate pedagogical approaches.
* Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and formation for mission.

Essential Qualifications and Accreditations:
