Ipswich Clinical Unit Part-time (20%), continuing position Base salary will be in the range $134,845 - $155,246 17% Superannuation (Academic Level C) Based at the Ipswich Hospital About This Opportunity The Deputy Head of the Central Learning Community Year 3 and 4 will contribute to the establishment and continual development of the Learning Community environment in a manner that promotes inclusivity and a sense of belonging for students and staff with the primary focus on providing a mutually supportive environment to allow medical students to flourish. Key responsibilities will include: Teaching: Provide high-quality academic leadership and support for Year 3 and 4 students, including guidance, remediation, and career advice. Contribute effectively to teaching, including course coordination, across internal and external modalities. Contribute to staff training, monitor student progress, and participate in continuous professional development to enhance overall learning quality. Research: Lead projects (internally, externally or unfunded) that address pressing educational problems or advance exciting new approaches in the discipline, School and/or Faculty with national recognition. Supervision and Researcher Development: Engage in supervision with a record of achievement in supervision outcomes. An established profile in clinical teaching. Evidence of a substantial senior contribution to quality clinical teaching at undergraduate postgraduate and/or professional entry level. Expert discipline knowledge and extensive experience in a general or specialist capacity, including evidence of dissemination of new and innovative clinical techniques. A record of peer reviewed publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences, in conjunction with evidence of contribution towards successful applications for external research funding. A strong track record of participation in the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area. A solid record of contribution to the supervision of trainees in clinical speciality training programs. A growing record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with demonstrated leadership roles in external activities that foster links within the profession and the relevant specialty, including developing consultancies in speciality areas.
