About the Role: Join us as a Disability Support Worker in a new Supported Independent Living location in Armstrong Creek. You'll be providing essential 1:2 support to two male participants who are transitioning to living independently. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your well-developed life skills and experience in epilepsy management and medication assistance to empower these young men as they learn household tasks like cooking, cleaning, and more. Who We're Looking For: We're searching for team members who are supportive, encouraging, and skilled at multi-tasking and problem-solving. A passion for teaching life skills and helping clients achieve greater independence is essential, along with an ability to connect with participants around their hobbies and interests. Your Skills and Experience: Proficiency in epilepsy management and medication assistance Excellent multi-tasking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills Strong ability to mentor and guide participants in life skills like cooking, cleaning, and budgeting Positive and proactive approach with a passion for empowering clients Preferred Interests: If you're a gamer, love cooking, shopping, or gardening, or enjoy activities like chalk drawing, mill market visits, or watching AFL and YouTube, you'll fit right in with our participants! Shared interests help build stronger, more meaningful connections, enhancing the support you provide.
