We are seeking dynamic and dedicated Assistant Cook to join our team at our Brown Hill - Perridak Burron Early Learning service. As Assistant Cook, you will work alongside our full-time centre cook to offer assistance within our kitchen.
The Perridak Burron (meaning ‘Platypus Children') Early Learning Centre provides a culturally safe and rich learning environment where families and the community are collaborators in each child’s learning journey from birth through to school engagement. Perridak Burron will combat and support the barriers and factors that impact upon Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families’ participation in early year’s education. This program initiates the instilling of Aboriginal culture and history on the journey from birth to elder aligning to BADAC’s holistic principle.

We are looking for an Assistant Cook who:
* Has experience leading or assisting in a childcare centre kitchen
* Established knowledge on food safe plans
* High quality expectation for a clean and safe kitchen environment
* Is genuinely willing and motivated to work within our centre
* Clear understanding of nutritional rotating early years service menus
* Has vibrant energy and is an uplifting team player
* Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills
* Creates inclusive, professional, and positive relationships with children
* Has strong time management, organizational skills and is flexible
* Is willing to participate in staff meetings, staff training and team building activities
* Commits to providing a culturally rich menu
What you’ll need:
* Current Food Safe Handlers Certificate
* Available to work between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm
* Current Employee Working with Children Check
* Current First Aid and CPR certificates

To be considered for roles with BADAC you will need to:
* Have (or be willing to have) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children Check Clearance.
Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Child Safe framework committing to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with Perridak Burron.
