Role MARC services enable small rural and regional Victorian government schools to provide students with access to a broader range of texts and educational resources. MARC is a mobile library service that provides literacy-based programs. MARC teachers are employed by the base school (Leitchville Primary School) and work collaboratively with serviced schools (4 other small schools) to increase access to a broader range of books and other educational resources, to improve engagement in relevant curriculum areas and improve learning outcomes. The MARC teacher typically works one day at each school and reports to the base school for support. Responsibilities Key responsibilities of MARC teachers include: development and delivery of relevant Victorian Curriculum F¿10 (2.0) aligned programs with a focus on student learning outcomes contribution to student reporting purchase and stocktake of resources and materials vehicle management and logbook keeping participation and contribution to planning and annual reporting as a key member of the committee of management. Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students; Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school; Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties. In addition, from 3 August 2020, to be eligible for employment in the principal class or teacher class, a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements. This condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian Initial Teacher Education program completed by the person. Location Profile Leitchville Primary School is the services base school and there are a further 4 schools in the locality ¿ Murrabit, Koondrook, Gunbower and Nanneella in which MARC services. - Leitchville Primary School is nestled at the fringe of the Leitchville township, within the Gannawarra Shire and supports the local farming families from Leitchville, Cohuna and surrounds. Koondrook Primary School is situated in the small rural township of Koondrook. Our school is located on Murray Parade, Koondrook, in the Shire of Gannawarra. Situated in a delightful bush setting the school is tucked into a bend of the Murray River. - Gunbower Primary School is a vibrant school nestled close to the Gunbower Creek and is a part of the local small rural district supporting its farming families. - Murrabit Group School is situated 26kms from Kerang and 3km from the Murray River. The school serves a farming area with most students being bussed in to school. - Nanneella Estate Primary School is located between the townships of Echuca and Rochester. It services the local farming area and houses. Who May Apply The MARC teacher must hold an active VIT registration or permission to teach, and a current Victorian driver¿s licence.
