What does a Leading Hand at Warakirri Cropping do? Coordinate machinery activities in the paddock, including resupply, refueling, and logistics between properties. Operate farm machinery for various tasks, including but not limited to spraying, paddock preparation, planting, spreading, cartage, and harvest. Train and mentor new staff members on machinery operations, emphasizing safety, timeliness, and quality. Coordinate with external parties, such as contractors and delivery drivers. Maximize the efficiency of machinery operations, especially when multiple machines are working together, such as multiple seeding rigs or spreaders. Work with the newest equipment and innovative technology at Warakirri Cropping, while observing and monitoring crop health and progress. Assist in the testing and recording of grain quality, as well as ensuring the safe storage and handling of grain during and after harvest. Responsible for some Agworld data entre and ensuring all operation record sheets are submitted on time for end of month process. Foster a learning environment at Warakirri Cropping, where staff are encouraged to ask questions and learn new things, with a strong focus on staff development. Qualifications Do you recognise yourself in the following statements? You bring broadacre cropping experience as a Senior Farm Hand/Senior Machinery Operator or Leading Hand. You have obtained an HR license You have a sound knowledge of growing dryland winter crops. You have experience in the operation of large-scale cropping plant and equipment. A willingness to learn, adopt new practices, and further develop personal skills while working in a team environment is what others pride you on. Your skill to mentor and coach others is one of your strengths, and you have demonstrated this previously. You have a high level of initiative and self-motivation.
