This position requires effective communication, proficient time management, and strategic thinking to ensure all educational activities with external stakeholders, while upholding high standards of execution, prioritise drug, device and procedure safety. Further, it requires adhering to relevant Pharmacovigilance and Quality Assurance policies for accurate and timely reporting of adverse events and product quality complaints.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo collaborate, develop and maintain local procedures and resources to support the initiation/optimisation and maintenance of Abbvie’s Parkinson’s Disease products in appropriate patients. Local procedures/resources may include but not be limited to:Treatment pathwaysEducation specific to Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and 3rd party nurse consultantsImplement the affiliate’s Risk Management Plan (RMP)Practical aspects of device managementEducate Gastroenterologists/endoscopy HCPs on the critical aspects of PEG-J preparation, placement and aftercareMaintenance phase processes- ensuring process are in place for long term care of patients, aiming to minimise avoidable discontinuationsTo develop and lead practical HCP education training programs – includes project management and oversight of training budgetEducate and train individuals or groups at a treating centre or as part of a regional training program in the form of theory based and/or practical training for the purposes of increased knowledge and building centre and HCP independenceConduct initial and follow-up training to HCPs to ensure the quality use of medicine and enhance safety, with a focus on RMP adherenceConduct refresher training/support for treating centre staffDocument all in-field activities in Veeva in a timely mannerLead regular review, implementation and maintenance of medical materials regarding the practical aspects of Abbvie’s Parkinson’s Disease Products.Execute Nursing Term Agreements (for external use of Patient Support Program Nurses) with relevant personnel at identified treating centres and seek guidance from AbbVie Legal as required.Internal and external collaborations:Work collaboratively with medical team to help achieve Brand Team goalsEnsure that relevant insights are communicated and recorded in a timely fashionExplore external collaborations with organisations that add value to medical objectivesDeliver in-field excellence by:Developing and maintaining expert knowledge in the Neuroscience therapeutic area with specific reference to Parkinson’s DiseaseEnsuring goals are delivered in alignment with the medical and scientific objectives of the therapeutic areaReport any adverse event or product quality complaints within 24 hours as per AbbVie’s policies and procedures.Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.Adhere to AbbVie’s internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.QualificationsCurrently, or have been, registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (or a State Nurses Association if relevant) whereby practice is permitted anywhere in Australia.Have, or have had, a Division 1 registrationMinimum of 3 years post-registration experience, experience in both Primary and Secondary careExperience of facilitating/delivering secondary care services, ideally, experience in clinical training of nurses and delivery of educational presentationsPreferably a professional background within the field of Neurology, Parkinson’s Disease and/or other Movement DisordersDemonstrated competency in training, facilitation and presentations with proven IT capabilityKnowledge of relevant Codes and Guidelines as approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of AustraliaKeen interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge for assigned therapeutic area/product and in medical research in general Strong clinical, influencing and strategic thinkingOpen and effective communicator in both verbal and written English, with excellent communication skills at all levelsAbility to organise and prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlinesDemonstrates initiative, is adaptable to different working environments and keen to develop own skills and knowledgeHigh customer orientation with excellent relationship building skills with stakeholdersStrong commitment to compliance with the relevant rules and procedures, and to scientific quality and integrityFlexibility and Availability: In line with Australia’s 'Right to Disconnect' legislation, we recognise and respect employees' right to refuse contact outside of their working hours, unless such refusal is deemed unreasonable.
