We are a transformative centre for research in artificial intelligence and machine learning, computer systems and software, and theoretical foundations of computing. About the opportunity As a casual sessional academic (tutor) you will be involved in the delivery of SOCO courses with support, guidance and direction from the Course Convenor and School staff. You will work both independently and as part of a team to inspire active and evidence-based learning in our courses as well as motivate students to achieve their best and help them meet the stated learning outcomes. You will have qualifications and/or experience which are appropriate for the relevant discipline area. If you have the ability to engage, educate and enjoy working as part of a team, we would like to hear from you. Tutoring qualifications are highly regarded. If you have not already completed specific tutor training run by the College or other units in ANU, you may have the opportunity to participate in this professional development. You will be notified by the school if this will be possible. ANU casual sessional academic positions are non-ladder positions, meaning occupants are ineligible to participate in the academic promotions process. Applications may be used to fill casual sessional academic roles over the course of the Semester. Preparation for teaching in Semester 2 commences in O-week, from 14th July 2025. Some courses may start a little earlier and completion of training may be needed in the week of 7th July 2025. It is the intention of the School of Computing to collect feedback on individual CSA performance from all course convenors in 2025.This feedback will be made available to other course convenors in subsequent semesters, should individuals apply for other CSA roles.
