Federal Government Department seeking APS5 Personnel Security Advisor to join their collaborative team.

Hays are currently working with a Federal Government Department who play a key role in shaping Australia's future through innovative policies and programs. The department currently has an APS5 Personnel Security Advisor position available within the Protective Security section.
Your new role
This Security Advisor position's primary focus is Personnel Security, though the Protective Security Section also manages physical security, Information Security and Security Strategy and Investigations functions. You will be exposed to all elements of security. Working within a team, you will be involved in a variety of personnel security tasks including:
* Conduct pre-employment suitability assessments, including the preparation of complex case assessments
* Engage with AGSVA on behalf of the department in relation to all security clearance matters
* Prepare temporary access and eligibility suitability paperwork for delegate approval
* Promote positive security culture across the department
* Provide support and advice to internal and external stakeholders regarding security requirements
* Support the broader team with operational duties as required
What you'll need to succeed
* Demonstrated experience in providing personnel security practice
* Knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework, guidelines and procedures
* Ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with a growing, diverse team of APS staff
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively engage and liaise with colleagues, senior managers, external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
* Ability to prioritise, manage competing tasks and work to deadlines
* You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance.
