We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee the financial operation of our business based in our head office in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will manage the entire financial overview of the company, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and effective day-to-day handling of payables, receivables, and payroll functions. This role is crucial in supporting the financial health and strategic planning of our organisation.Key Responsibilities:Oversee and manage all financial aspects of the business, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.Prepare and manage the annual budget, working closely with department heads to align financial goals with operational needs.Conduct financial forecasting and variance analysis to guide strategic decision-making.Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company's liquidity and operational efficiency.Implement strategies to optimise cash flow and manage working capital effectively.Supervise the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.Manage relationships with vendors and clients to resolve financial discrepancies and improve payment processes.Oversee payroll functions to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee salaries, benefits, and deductions.Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation and company policies.Monthly & Annual Payroll Tax Reconciliation, lodgement, payment of each state.Superannuation lodgement and payments with clearing house.PAYG submit to ATO fortnightly and reconcile to general ledger.Annual Reconciliation and lodgement of Workcover for each state.Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to senior management.Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and operational efficiency.Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, standards, and laws relevant to the security industry.Identify financial risks and implement measures to mitigate potential impacts on the business.Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance working environment.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA or CA qualifications preferred).Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior financial management role.Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and understanding of inter-company operations (loans & journals).Experience with financial software and systems (e.g., MYOB, Xero).Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.Strong leadership and team management abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements relevant to the security industry is a plus.
