The key duties of the position include The Role As the Resident Project Team (RPT) EL 1 Senior Commercial Manager, functionally reporting to the Resident Project Team Lead, you will act as a Commonwealth representative providing direct engagement with US Government (USG) organisations regarding the financial performance of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) acquisition of the replacement C-130J fleet. The incumbent of the position will be expected to provide specialist financial and commercial management to the AIR7404 Resident Project Team. As the RPT Senior Commercial Manager, you will: Deliver specialist advice to the Resident Project Team Lead on USG financial management and commercial regulations and policy to inform FMS Case execution; Deliver informed advice to the Project Manager and Resident Project Team Lead on FMS Quarterly Payments; Provide advice to inform the ongoing update of the FMS Case spend forecast to ensure the Project has a high confidence projection of FMS Case disbursements for use in routine Estimates activities; Critically review US Air Force (USAF) financial performance to identify emerging risks to Project financial performance; Provide oversight of major USAF contracts to ensure major integrated master schedule milestones with significant financial obligations are tracked; ensuring risks to schedule and financial performance are identified and treated; Provide direct engagement with Defence Finance Group (DFG) and US Defence Security Cooperation Agency Teams on financial matters affecting FMS Case AT-D-SAI; Provide input into Australian Embassy FMS Financial Management Review activities; and Provide oversight of sustainment activities initially carried out as part of FMS Case AT-D-SAI and coordinate with AIR 7404 Sustainment Lead to ensure the transition to longer-term arrangements (either FMS or DCS) are managed appropriately. About our Team Future Air Mobility Systems Program Office (FAMSPO) is an innovative, exciting and people-focused acquisition SPO located in Airlift and Tanker Systems (ATS) Branch under Aerospace Systems Division (ASD). As one of ASD's 'Future-Series' SPOs, it is responsible for the acquisition of air mobility capabilities that support combat, humanitarian, diplomatic and peacekeeping operations. The FAMSPO AIR 7404 Resident Project Team (RPT) has been established in the United States, located at the Lockheed Marietta plant in Georgia, to provide face-to-face oversight and governance of the Australian Foreign Military Sales (FMS) acquisition of 20 new C-130J-30 aircraft and other supporting components and services. At an estimated value of $7.18B, the C-130J acquisition represents the largest FMS case currently being executed by Defence.
