Akeyulerre Aboriginal Corporation – Alice Springs NT Organisation: Akeyulerre Aboriginal Corporation About Akeyulerre Aboriginal Corporation: Akeyulerre Aboriginal Corporation, established by Arrernte Elders and community leaders in 2000, is a not-for-profit organisation committed to strengthening Arrernte culture and supporting community healing.We create culturally-based social enterprises and opportunities for economic independence, focusing on maintaining and celebrating Arrernte language, culture, and heritage.Position Overview: The Digital Archives and Media Officer will manage and maintain the digital storage of cultural materials, produce visual content for social media and reports, and support website management.This role involves working closely with the community, particularly elders, to document and share cultural knowledge respectfully and ethically.The position will be based in Alice Springs, with occasional 'on country' trips.Key Responsibilities: Digital Archive Management: Develop and maintain digital archives for cultural resources, ensuring they align with cultural protocols and accessibility standards.Content Creation: Create and edit visual content for social media and reports, including photography and videography, ensuring cultural accuracy and sensitivity.Website Management: Update and manage the organisation's website, uploading content that aligns with project goals and accessibility standards.Social Media Management: Develop a content calendar, manage social media platforms, and evaluate engagement through analytics, ensuring alignment with project KPIs.Community Engagement: Participate in 'on country' trips to document events, ensuring respectful and ethical media production aligned with cultural protocols. Selection Criteria: Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in digital media, communications, or a related field.Experience: Proven experience in managing digital archives, visual content creation, and website management.Technical Skills: Proficiency in digital archiving tools, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media management platforms.Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrated understanding of and respect for Aboriginal culture and protocols.Licenses: NT Driver's License, Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance), and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain). Additional Requirements: Must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (special/equal opportunity measure under relevant legislation).Ability to travel and work outside standard hours when required.
