YHAC also operate a fully accredited 24-hour residential aged care facility.Aged Care Support WorkerWe are seeking dedicated and compassionate Aged Care Support Workers to join our team. This is a great opportunity to join a well-operated Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service in the beautiful beach side rural location of Ceduna. There are multiple PPT and Casual positions available for those who have a passion for aged care and who would care for our residents as though they were their own loved ones. The Aged Care Support Workers are critical in providing residents with care and support to ensure that they have a safe, clean, comfortable, and secure living environment.Working Arrangements:

Key Selection Criteria:
Experience in working with Aboriginal People and Communities
You will possess or be enrolled in a minimum Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent. Permanent Staff may have the opportunity to be supported through their studies if they do not currently hold the required qualifications.
Have a great attitude and strong work ethic in addition to the ability to work as part of a team, displaying passion about the role.
High level of written and verbal communication skills with ability to build relationships with all levels of the organisation and the community.
Demonstrate ability to work flexibly within tight time schedules and in accordance with variable workload demands.
Sound level of numeracy and demonstrated attention to detail.
Ability to build relationships with all levels of the organisation and community.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing tasks and priorities.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to demonstrate empathy when required, exercise tact and initiate sound judgement when required, whilst maintaining confidentiality.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Current National Police Check, DHS WWCC, and DHS Aged Care Screening.
Current valid SA Driver Licence (minimum of Class “C” or equivalent).
COVID-19 and Flu Vaccinations not mandatory, but highly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
Help residents with meals, including feeding if necessary.
Administer medication as prescribed and keep accurate records.
Monitor residents' health and report any changes to healthcare professionals.
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents.
Participate in social and recreational activities with residents.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
Maintaining accurate records of care provided, documenting changes in health status and any incidents.
Advocate for the resident's needs and preferences.
Assist resident's with accessing community resources and services.
Complete mandatory training and specialised professional development.
