About the role
The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and coordinate all operational and delivery Service Maintenance activities within custodial facilities including electronic security systems. The successful applicant will lead and mentor a team and be critical in ensuring oversight of the effective and efficient coordination of human and financial resources to ensure service maintenance activities and programs are delivered in an optimised and customer-centric manner. Oversee compliance practices and utilisation of internal and external resources to manage sophisticated financial, risk management and ensure in-depth reporting principles and implemented frameworks for contract management.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing high level of support to QBuild's maintenance contracts including electronic security systems (ESS).
Duties and skills involved:
* Ensuring the effective operational delivery of client ESS service maintenance programs by managing and optimising the productivity of program resources, monitoring performance and initiating remedial action as necessary, ensuring a customer-centric approach and encouraging continuous improvement.
* Managing a range of tasks associated with the production programs of work, including program management, design management, cost planning, tendering, estimating and contract administration of planned work programs.
* Establishing annual budgets, performance indicators and managing financial activities.
* Successfully delivering all regional program and project activity through planning and utilisation of internal and external resources and the use of sophisticated financial, risk management and reporting principles and techniques.
* Partnering with Industry and customers to ensure the successful delivery of all QBuild services.
* Leading the successful delivery of all Service Maintenance Contract Management and administration activities providing efficient and effective frameworks are used for contract documentation, assessment, extension, payments, and contract and contractor performance.
* Developing and maintaining a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.
* Being a champion of change and ensuring effective working relationships, through continuous development and encouragement of individual and teams.
* Proactively managing the work performance and personal conduct of your staff, including implementing programs that develop the skills of staff in the region to maximise their potential.
* Travel may be required as part of this role function (intrastate) occasionally.
Preferred skills and experience:
* Demonstrated ability to operational objectives through effective planning and utilisation of resources, including the ability to successfully manage a commercially oriented organisation in the Building Construction and Maintenance Industry, or similar, within the Public Sector.
* Demonstrated confidence and highly developed communication, analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to negotiate effective outcomes with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Proven ability to lead and align service activities to Government and departmental priorities and effectively implement and manage change in a complex and dynamic work environment, preferably within the Public Sector.
Mandatory Requirements
* High level of experience in managing Electronic Security System Contracts.
* High level of experience working in Custodial Environments.
