They report directly to the ASM (Assistant Store manager).
A key aspect of this role is ensuring the daily department task list/routines are carried out and mentoring and coaching their team to achieve these goals.
Communication, organisational & merchandising skills will be important characteristics of this individual In this role you will be Responsible forHigh standards in visual presentation and store standards to maximise salesEnsure the execution of promotions & marketing plansInventory management including stocktaking & orderingOutstanding customer service standardsQuality and safety duties including receiving, inspecting and storing of product, whilst also maintaining date and rotation of productsAssisting ASM with Profit and loss management, including sales, gross profit and shrinkage budgets/targetsAssisting ASM with Personnel cost management, including rosteringAssisting ASM to lead and provide ongoing support, training and development for your team including performance management.Assisting ASM with safety & compliance management including participation in Department auditsAssisting ASM to ensure accuracy of purchase orders & invoices, including placing of claimsBe aware of & follow all Company's procedures and policiesPossible use of cash registers at times.Effective communication ensuring good relationships with ASM, Store Manager, Team Members as well as Contractors and SuppliersEnsure a happy workplace where people love to come and work.Other duties as requiredIS THIS YOU.....?Well presentedProfessional and Excellent communication skills with an extrovert personaCustomer service focusedUnderstanding of supermarket best practiceEnthusiasm to work within a team environment QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK SKILL REQUIREMENTS - desired but not essentialRetail Management Certficates or retail experience Exposure to retail grocery departmentSome knowledge of purchasing, ranging, and merchandising of Dept to drive sales.Some Knowledge in the management of wages, gross profit and waste controlDemonstrated high level in written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrated willingness to lead, manage and coach team membersDemonstrate ability to organise & execute given routines/ task list, standards & processesIntermediate computer skillsABOUT US....We are a dynamic family owned company operating independent supermarkets in the Central West and Riverina areas of New South Wales.
