Overview Exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, effective and efficient emergency and medical care. Providing medical services to Emergency Department (ED) patients at the Gawler Health Service, you will have the opportunity to perform a wide range of procedures. You will provide leadership to the clinical team, and facilitate effective clinical review mechanisms and quality improvements processes. Delivering and participating in relevant teaching programs for medical officers and other staff attached to the Department, you will contribute to continuing education programs within the ED. Combining clinical and teaching roles, this is a great opportunity to help establish a Rural Generalist ED training hub with a reputation for high training standards. You must hold a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration in Emergency Medicine (FACEM). This will be supported by a proven track record of experience in clinical emergency medicine, in a setting comparable to an Australian Emergency Department. Demonstrating wide experience in the management of paediatric and adult emergencies, you will possess a high level of skill in professional judgement, clinical competence, negotiation and communication within a multidisciplinary setting. Prior experience in the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff will hold you in good stead for this role.
