We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Consultant - Community Engagement and Strategic Planning to join our growing team. Working in a small team environment, this role is diverse, highly collaborative and cross-disciplinary. On any one day you may be:Designing and developing stakeholder and community engagement strategies and communication plans.Researching, contributing and inputting into the development of large-scale strategic plans, such as housing strategies, public infrastructure plans, place plans and structure plans.Crafting plain-English communications and engagement materials that distil technical plans into people-centric narratives.Reviewing planning policies and providing advice to clients on strategic urban planning matters including planning scheme amendments.Leading community engagement events including facilitation, meetings, community drop-ins, pop-up events and other creative activities.Managing medium to large community engagement and strategic planning projects.Managing day-to-day client relationships and multi-disciplinary teams.Supporting on a range of other multidisciplinary social infrastructure, design and communication projects.Contributing to business development, tender preparation and thought leadership.Working with other team members to lead, train, mentor and upskill.Experience and competenciesMust have’s to succeed in this role:5+ years’ experience required, in community engagement and / or strategic urban planning.You have a track record for crafting strategic, thoughtful and effective strategies and plans.You are confident in public speaking including stakeholder facilitation and event management.You have an eager eye for detail with impeccable written and verbal communication skills (including report writing, presentation and facilitation).You bring hands-on experience delivering best-in-class, creative and deliberative engagement practices or an eagerness to learn.You are adaptable, collaborative and would thrive in a fast-paced environment.You are an effective operator, able to work on multiple projects concurrently and balance competing priorities.You are committed to advancing engagement practice in the built environments through ongoing thought leadership, innovation and industry participation.Highly desirable:Degree in Urban Planning, Community Development, Communications, Design, Social Studies or other relevant degree.A consultancy background and/or experience working in a small consultancy environment.A strong understanding of local and state government.Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and / or InDesign.Ability to drive a motor vehicle with a valid Victorian driver’s license (or equivalent).Click the ‘Apply Now’ button.
