Our Opportunity We are looking for an Ordnance / VLS Technician to join our Weapons and Technical Services (W&TS) which is part of the Maritime / Ship Repair Services domain.
The W&TS team is responsible for providing Repair, Maintenance & Technical support to Defence in the areas of Major and Minor Fleet units and support services located in WA, including specific Marine, Electronic & Weapon systems across all Naval Services and platforms.
Responsibilities Provide depot level and field engineering services primarily for the Naval Weapons Systems installed in RAN vessels Assist with the undertaking of the Ordnance Series Inspections as required Prepare technical reports, attend sea acceptance trials and conduct local or "at sea" system alignment and defect investigations.
Managing the Ordnance Store on a part-time basis Provide guidance to junior technical staff, other trades and contractors involved in the installation, commissioning and testing activities associated with VLS About You In the possession of a Technical National Diploma, or in the progress of obtaining an Advanced Diploma Minimum of 2 year's' experience within the Naval Ordnance field Physically be able to work in a shipboard environment (climb ladders, masts, confined space work, manual handling work etc.).
