Agricultural enterprises include Seedless Watermelon, Rockmelons, Broccoli, Pumpkin, Almonds and Winegrapes. Operations include primary production, processing, value adding and marketing. Position: Casual/Seasonal Forklift Operator and Farm Hand positions.Duration: Ongoing - May 2025Forklift Operator:Key operational accountabilities include:
Ensure trailers are loaded in a timely manner.
Stack bins in correct group of 3.
Load cool room as directed by Packhouse Manager.
Stage loads as directed.
Ensure seedless cool room drains are clear and flowing.
Load bins on and off scales.
Stack up made bins.
Ensure pallets and cardboard ready for bin makers.
Stage loads as directed.
Daily Forklift checks completed. Inspecting and controlling equipment to identify wear and damage.
Ensure weights in bins are correct.
Ensure correct size seedless used when finalising weight.
Blow and wipe down bins and seedless.
Pallet cap finish goods.
Ensure all bin labels are on bins and label info is correct.
Ensure Pack Manager is entered correct.
Ensure truck is load as directed.
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
Evidence of work rights in Australia.
Current Forklift license.
Proven experience as a forklift operator.
Current driver’s license.
You must pass a Forklift competency test conducted on the farm before being issued a contract of employment.
Reliable transportation to and from the farm.
Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods, including weekends and public holidays.
Immediate availability to start work.
Ability to secure accommodation, as there is no farm accommodation.
Willing to stay for the whole harvest period.
Be capable and willing to work in a busy environment.
Awareness and ability to adhere to rules and procedures.
Chemical Certification will be advantageous but not mandatory.
Farm Hand:Key operational accountabilities include:
Operating small towing tractor engaged in transfer of produce bins and other containers.
Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops.
Perform basic set up and operation of irrigation equipment.
Apply pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers to crops.
Clean and maintain irrigation ditches.
Assisting with minor repairs and maintenance of vehicles, assets, and equipment.
Perform farm labouring and maintenance tasks.
Perform daily pre-start checks.
Record information about crops.
Dig and plant seeds, or transplant seedlings by hand.
Harvest fruits and vegetables by hand.
Load agricultural products into trucks or storage facilities.
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude.
Prior experience within the agricultural industry is desirable.
Knowledge and experience with agricultural machinery is beneficial.
Mechanically inclined, good with tools and machinery.
Comfortable using modern technology such as smartphones.
Current Driver's License and transport.
Team player who can work effectively with people from different backgrounds.
Awareness and ability to adhere to WHS requirements.
Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets. Including weekends and public holidays.
A truck license would be considered an advantage.
Chemical Accreditation (ChemCert), reliable transportation, ability to secure accommodation (as there is no farm accommodation) and a valid driver’s license would be essential.
