The purpose of this role is to oversee and manage the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex IM and ICT project(s) in line with Queensland Health project management methodologies. The purpose of the project is to deliver fit for purpose, robust and resilient Digital infrastructure to underpin health service delivery and patient care in digital hospitals. In particular, it is providing urgent ICT uplift of communications rooms. Key responsibilities include: • Under the Program Director, lead a project workforce consisting of employees, contractors and service organisations that provide program and project services ranging from design, through to operational readiness, commissioning and handover. • Promote and ensure the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools, including benefits realisation and risk and issue management, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered. • Ensure project outcomes are achieved by leading and mentoring project teams to develop a strong, efficient, ethical and multi-disciplinary workforce that delivers excellent project outcomes to our customers. • Provide high level expert advice and strategic input into the development of project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with Queensland Government and Queensland Health policies, strategies and architecture. • Oversee the successful delivery of complex and high-risk ICT projects to ensure program outcomes are achieved and enterprise solutions are delivered that are aligned to customer needs. • Ensure all related projects integrate with Queensland Health’s strategic direction, by providing high level expert advice, influencing, working collaboratively with and aligning to Whole of Government (WoG) IM/ICT initiatives, and state, national and international health bodies. • Ensure projects are managed in accordance with best practice guidelines (e.g. MSP, PRINCE2) and Queensland Health’s formal project management approach and methodologies to enable the achievement of consistent and quality project outcomes. • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external state-wide stakeholders by undertaking high level strategic negotiations, providing expert advice, and resolving complex risks and issues associated with the program or project. • Oversee the monitoring and reporting of project-related trends, capability development and performance against project plans and budgets. • Ensure project outcomes are achieved and project management capability is maintained within the Division by leading, managing and directing multi-disciplinary project teams. • Liaising, consulting and negotiating with key senior stakeholders at Chief Executive, CFO and CIO level across eHealth Queensland, 6 Hospital & Health Services and the Department of Health. Mandatory qualifications / Professional registration / other requirements This position requires: • While not mandatory, relevant Project Management qualifications in PRINCE2 and MSP would be highly regarded. • Experience in leadership roles in government • Experience in a managing complex ICT Programs or Projects Deliverables Deliverables will be agreed with the Program Director at commencement of engagement for the delivery of the project in accordance with eHealth Queensland standards and processes.
