Civmec has secured the award of a major construction contract for the Rio Tinto Western Range Project at their Paraburdoo site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The iron ore project includes Greenfields and Brownfields scope with the construction of a new Run of Mine (ROM) pad, primary crushing facility, overland conveying circuit and modifications to the Coarse Ore Stockpile (COS) and downstream conveying system.
The Greenfields scope includes a new primary crushing facility, discharge conveyor and transfer station and a 17-kilometre overland conveying system that transfers the ore through to the existing Paraburdoo COS. The overland conveying system includes multiple conveyor flights, transfer stations and creek crossings to link the new primary crusher to the existing process plant.
The Brownfields scope includes extensive modifications to the current Paraburdoo COS and downstream conveying system. This includes addition of new feed points at the COS, new ore transfer equipment, conveyor replacements, conveyor upgrades, drive replacements and a range of other general modifications to receive the new ore stream.

The Role
Civmec is world renowned for our high levels of quality in engineering and fabrication. To support QA/QC activities, we are currently expanding our QA /QC Teams and are seeking Expressions of Interest from the following:
QA/QC Superintendents
Senior QA Officers
QC Inspectors
Senior QC Inspectors
About You
Solid experience working in either a QC/QA capacity on SMP construction and commissioning projects
Sound understanding of Quality Management Systems, Completions processes and ability to develop and manage documentation and records to support the framework
Knowledge of and experience working with relevant Australian and International standards, both technical and those related to quality management systems
Hold relevant qualifications in QA/QC disciplines e.g. CSWIP (IWI / 3.1), NACE, Lead Auditor etc
Have strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to overcome challenges and present innovative solutions
Excellent written and verbal communicator
Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office Suite
Experience in Civil and E&I disciplines would also be highly regarded
