About the Role
As a Landscape Maintenance Assistant, you will:
* Maintain and enhance clients' outdoor spaces.
* Work Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, totaling 40 hours per week.
* Start at Level 2 pay under the Gardening and Landscaping Services Award, with potential to advance after a three-month review.
* Support the team and contribute to creating well-maintained landscapes.
* Play a vital part in the success of landscaping projects.
Role Responsibilities
Your key duties will include:
* Performing a variety of landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, brush cutting, and pest and disease identification.
* Ensuring plant health by replacing unhealthy plants and maintaining records of plant care.
* Using and operating various landscaping machinery, including push and zero-turn mowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and more.
* Supporting the team in maintaining a high standard of work and contributing to a positive, collaborative work environment.
* Adhering to Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and Environmental Protection guidelines.
* Participating in team meetings and training, ensuring you’re equipped to perform tasks safely and effectively.
* Engaging in physical tasks such as shoveling, raking, climbing ladders, and lifting materials as required.
* Driving company vehicles and completing minor irrigation repairs as needed.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Should Have:
* Experience: Previous laboring experience in garden or landscape maintenance is essential.
* Skills: Effective communication, ability to work well under pressure, follow instructions, and thrive as part of a team.
* Physical Capability: Ability to walk up to 5 km per day and perform physical tasks, including climbing in and out of vehicles, lifting, and handling equipment.
Licences and Certifications:
*
o A valid C Class Manual Driver's Licence.
o White card (construction) – blue card accepted, must be willing to get one if needed.
o Ability to pass a criminal history check.
* Preferred but Not Essential:
o Certificate II in Horticulture.
o MR Driver’s Licence.
o First Aid Certification.
