Western Health launched the Lived Experience Advisor Program (LEAP) to employ consumer leaders as Lived Experience Advisors (LEAs).
LEAs are embedded as team members across service areas to implement projects in partnership with clinical and program staff.
By using a range of codesign methods, LEAs amplify the consumer voice and build a culture of consumer engagement. Coming from diverse backgrounds, LEAs also ensure consumer-centred projects focus on diversity and inclusion as well as improving health care practices.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Lived Experience Advisor to join the New Melton Hospital Project team.
The LEA will work with the Western Health NMH Project Team to ensure a functional hospital design that responds to the needs of consumers by:
* Supporting, evaluating and providing expertise to the project
* Building external and internal partnerships to enable effective engagement with consumers
* Supporting consumer events as required
This part-time (1 day per week), fixed term role (until July 2027) will be based across Western Health sites.
