About the Role
Have you ever wanted to start your career within the hospitality industry? This full-time role is an amazing opportunity for the successful candidate to commence their careers under the guidance of the hotel's Maintenance Manager.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Handyman/Gardener is primarily responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager to ensure all the hotels rooms, restaurant, pool area and grounds are maintained to an exceptionally high level. The hotel is willing to mentor and develop the successful candidate and provide the training required to undertake this varied and diverse role.
Key areas of focus include:
1. Maintaining all lawns, grounds, garden and irrigation systems
2. Undertaking general maintenance repairs - general plumbing, painting, carpentry skills
3. Detailing and washing company vehicles, as well as assisting with shuttle duties
4. Ensuring the pool is maintained in line with the Aquatic Pool Standards for Class 3 Pools
5. Liaising with other hotel staff and assisting with general tasks and guest assistance requests

Skills and experience
This role would be ideally suited for a person wishing to kick start a career in hospitality. The hotel is prepared to provide specific training within each relevant area so that you are confident in all tasks and your ability.
Prior experience with:
1. Gardening, Retic, small power tools highly desired
2. Basic handyman tasks (drills, door locks, tv & basic electronics) are highly desired
3. This is a physically demanding role and is suited to a person with a high level of fitness and stamina
The successful candidate must be:
1. Double vaccinated for Covid and willing to have required booster
2. Able to work unsupervised
3. Display a high level of respect for other team members
4. Fit, as the role includes heavy lifting and is physically demanding
5. Respectful and courteous to hotel guests
6. Punctual and passionate about service, inspirational, and full of positive energy
7. Willing to go 'above & beyond'
8. Confident to drive the hotel shuttle bus (automatic) for guest airport transfers with relevant WA Drivers License
9. Have Australian work entitlements
