About the Role
Service Stream is seeking an experienced water main renewals Supervisor to join its growing team in Melbourne. The Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of Crew Leaders and Field Staff in the delivery of the complete project scope of work in a manner that is safe, on-time, on-budget and to the agreed standard of quality and client satisfaction.
Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Clayton South or Epping
Reporting Line: Construction Manager
The teams in which the Supervisor manages may be directly employed, sub-contracted resources or a combination of both. The teams may also be working on single sites or across multiple sites depending on the number and scale of each project.
Key Responsibilities
The Supervisor is Responsible and Accountable for the below requirements associated with both their role and the personnel that are aligned as Direct Reports to their position:
Planning and Pre-Construction Activities:
Understand budget and prepare program/schedule to match as required.
Conduct constructability review to ensure best overall solution from a quality, cost, ongoing maintenance, and safety perspective for Client and Service Stream.
Obtain relevant permits to enable work to commence and progress continuously.
Assist in the development of project management plans.
Assist in the development of HSEQ Management plans.
Assist in the development of all compliance documentation (ITP, checklist, SWMS, JSEA, etc.).
Coordinate project with principal contractors.
Compile Scopes of work for subcontract agreements for procuring suppliers/subcontractors.
Construction Activities:
Ensure that HSEQ Management Plan is implemented in the field.
Conduct toolbox meeting(s) with team.
Assist to procure and subsequently coordinate resources and materials.
Support and lead the team to review, scope, plan and deliver the projects during the whole life cycle of works.
Manage subcontractors.
Manage budget and schedule.
Coordinate all construction activities to budget and schedule.
Ensure that the construction of assets are in accordance with MRWA & WSAA standards in line with the operating water authority.
Problem solve construction issues as required.
Create and maintain Program Reports.
About You
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes and safety laws.
Ability to lead and manage teams.
Ability to deal diligently, patiently, and professionally with internal stakeholders, clients, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
Initiative-taker, able to determine own priorities and manage work accordingly.
Analytical with ability to identify and suggest areas for process improvement and drive efficiency.
8+ years’ experience within the Infrastructure Construction industry or similar industry experience.
Previous industry experience within utilities, water and/or gas/power.
Specialist experience in provision of Civil services discipline.
