On behalf of our client in South Australia, we are seeking a Mental Health Clinician to join the Eyre and Far North LHN. Providing high quality and safe mental health service to consumers with a severe and enduring mental illness within a multidisciplinary context. Managing an increasingly complex mental health Social Work caseload and supporting other team members in managing the demands of the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to provide a quality and safe mental health service to consumers with a severe and enduring mental illness within a multidisciplinary context
- Coordinate and delivery high quality, comprehensive and integrated Social Work services to eligible mental health consumers
- Contribute to accordance with experience, skills and knowledge, to professional leadership in the application of clinical protocols and standards within the multi-disciplinary team and unit
- Apply clinical skills to a broad scope of practice, delivering services which promote self-determination and connectedness, and are appropriate to the local rural context
- Apply social work knowledge, skills and values in facilitating change and recovery with consumers and their families, supporters and communities
- Coordinate an increasingly complex mental health Social Work caseload and support other team members in managing the demands of the service
- Evaluate and reflect on own practice and effectiveness as a practitioner within the process of the work and with professional supervisor
- Contribute to the improvements in health outcomes by applying mental health care principles to the development and delivery of services to consumers
- Actively engage in and develop a formal clinical supervision agreement with the Clinical Senior Social Worker and Advanced Clinical Lead, Social Work
- Develop and maintain inter and intra-professional clinical networks across South Australia and within the regional LHN MH service and SA Health
- Collaborate with consumers to set, implement and develop ways to review their own goals
- Plan and facilitate transitions between levels of service with the consumer, family / carer, community mental health team and other services
- Work with consumers to identify areas where advocacy may be required and support or directly advocate, empowering the consumer where possible and/or acting on their behalf in their interests
- Developing clear bio-psycho-social formulations and plans and carrying through on these plans with direct work, appropriate referral and consumer and family collaboration
- Collaborate, mediate, provide counselling and referral as appropriate in the development or strengthening of existing support networks, including carers and family, friends, local communities and other service providers
- Maintain professional documentation and contribute to the development of consumer care plans
- Provide clear, detailed and comprehensive reports appropriately documenting clinical opinion and recommendations
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for full registration with AASW
- Previous experience in a similar role and setting; providing comprehensive and integrated Social Work services to mental health consumers
- Previous experience within rural and remote context; managing a complex caseload and providing clinical supervision
- Demonstrated experience and skills working effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Well-developed communication, liaison, prioritization, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Participation in service planning and development, quality improvement and evaluation
- Current drivers' licence is essential as is a willingness to drive on country roads and travel in light aircraft as required
- Current National Police Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Check. Or ability to obtain for credentialing requirements
Excellent casual agency rates - $64-73 per hour + super (based on experience)
