The Position
An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and motivated Speech Pathologist to join our team in a permanent, full-time position at Joondalup Health Campus. You will be responsible for providing a quality speech pathology service to a general adult caseload who present with a range of swallowing and/or communication deficits.
You will be part of a supportive team of professionals who are passionate about providing the best evidence-based care for our patients. You will be supported in your career development with a specialised mentoring and coaching program, have access to instrumental assessments (VFSS and FEES) with scope to become credentialed in these, and assist with quality improvement and research projects.
Job requirements - what we are looking for (Ensure you address each of these job requirements in your application – refer to ‘How to apply’):
* Tertiary qualification in speech pathology.
* Demonstrated eligibility for membership with the Speech Pathology Association of Australia.
* Ability to assess, diagnose and manage adults who present with a wide range of swallowing and communication disorders.
* High level, positive interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
* Ability to function effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Proven time and caseload management skills in a fast-paced environment.
* Commitment to continuing professional development.
* Knowledge of, and commitment to, quality assurance and/or the accreditation process.
* Previous clinical experience with an adult caseload in the hospital setting is highly desirable.
* Exposure to instrumental assessments (VFSS and FEES) is desirable.
* An understanding of the relevant legislation in Equal Opportunity and Occupational Health and Safety.
