Registered Nurse – Transition to Acute Care Nursing Program
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective, and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment.
This role has been developed to support the Registered Nurse to develop the skills and attributes required to work and thrive in an Acute Care Hospital. The program offers Registered Nurses the opportunity to rotate through multiple departments and specialty units over a 10 month period while being supported by a designated Clinical Nurse Educator.
Duties:
* Perform comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients.
* Identify and implement discharge planning requirements.
* Plan appropriate care in consultation with both the patient and the multidisciplinary team.
* Evaluate patient progress and revise nursing interventions where required.
* Complete accurate documentation of nursing care in patient's medical record and communicate to other team members.
* Protect the rights of patients while respecting their values, customs and spiritual beliefs.
* Function in accordance with legislation and policy relevant to practice.
* Act in accordance with the profession's code of ethics and the professional standards of a Registered Nurse.
* Maintain confidentiality.
About You:
* You must be a Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* You should have demonstrated recent clinical experience in general nursing.
* You should have a commitment to your own personal and professional development and a desire to continually improve patient care.
* You should be able to work unsupervised and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
* You should have effective communication, interpersonal and time management skills, with the ability to work proficiently during periods of high demand and activity.
* You should have computer literacy and the ability to use healthcare software.
