The AIR 5428 Pilot Training System partners with the Australian Defence Force for development of its military pilot workforce at four operating bases, RAAF Base East Sale, RAAF Base Pearce, RAAF Base Edinburgh, and RAAF Base Williamtown.Your responsibilities will include:The role of Simulator Technician is to conduct maintenance and support activities for a variety of technical equipment and facilities. Day to day tasks include:Investigating, troubleshooting, testing, analysing and diagnosing of technical equipmentMaintenance and repair of technical equipmentProviding updates on the maintenance and fault finding on equipmentGenerating and completing work orders as directed using the approved Maintenance Management SystemOperation of PC-21 Simulators.About you:We are interested in hearing from a range of candidates with varied experience levels, from those with a strong aptitude in IT or electronics and an interest in Aviation, through to candidates with extensive software or trade skills associated with the operation and maintenance of electronic based systems and equipment.Key attributes:Ability to follow structured operational maintenance plans to meet maintenance, operational and quality objectives.Computer literacy with an ability to analyse and interpret maintenance informationBasic to intermediate skills and experience in the use of MS Office and other relevant software packages and applicationsUnderstanding of WHS and security application and responsibilitiesExperience in the use of a Maintenance Management SystemsDemonstrated ability to use engineering change control/configuration management systems highly regarded.Tertiary qualifications (Certificate III or above) in a relevant discipline (electronics, electrical, mechanical engineering from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry).Special Requirements:Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and eligible to hold & maintain CoA baseline clearance.
