Laboratory Technician (2iC) - Research Laboratory Support Services (RLSS)

A Laboratory Technician (2iC) position has become available to work across all areas of the Research Laboratory Support Services (RLSS) unit, with a focus on Laboratory Services and Media Preparation.
The main function of Laboratory Services section of this role is to collect used laboratory ware from the Research and Pathology laboratory areas, prepare and sterilise items and deliver clean and/or sterile items to the laboratory areas. The function of the Media Preparation section of this role is to prepare, sterilise and stock media and other solutions for the Cancer Research Division and other parts of the hospital as required.
Other duties include various administrative and practical duties in all areas of RLSS and assisting in each area of RLSS when the workload or staffing levels require it. Duties as 2iC (second in charge) includes covering leave for the Research Store Manager and the RLSS Core Facility Manager.
