In this role you will be a part of the newly established First Nations Division and will assist in monitoring and reviewing policing practices, strategies and initiatives at state, national and international levels and provide advice on their efficiency, effectiveness and applicability to the QPS cultural capability.

The First Nations team is building cultural capability, trust, transparency and strengthening relationships between the QPS and First Nations communities, across Queensland. This is achieved by sharing information and developing initiatives in a collaborative approach to prevent harm and together develop a safer Queensland for everyone.
In this role you will be a part of the newly established First Nations Division and assist in developing trust and understanding between members of the Queensland Police Service and local communities, by undertaking research into external and internal issues affecting the QPS.
The core capability requirements for this role are:
1. Evaluate QPS programs and initiatives and consult with other areas of the QPS on evaluation practices, methods, and approaches.
2. Monitor and review policing practices, strategies and initiatives at state, national and international levels and provide advice on their efficiency, effectiveness, and applicability to the QPS cultural capability.
3. Undertake research into external and internal issues affecting the QPS.
4. Provide well-researched, soundly based, and defensible advice to senior management.
5. Develop and maintain effective networks and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and agencies to deliver positive outcomes for the QPS. Evaluate QPS programs and initiatives and consult with other areas of the QPS on evaluation practices, methods, and approaches.
