The Role
The Deputy Director Logistics Capability Projects is accountable to the Director Theatre Logistics Capability Program for providing project management support to the Logistics Capability Branch. You will play a key role in supporting the management and delivery of Theatre Logistics Capability Program project work streams.
They will be responsible for:
* Providing strong leadership to ensure a high level of performance, integration and consistency in the management of projects and products;
* Leading and undertaking project management activities in accordance with the Capability Program Architecture and Defence policies and procedures;
* Planning and managing allocated resources, setting program priorities, workflows, work area strategies and evaluating business outcomes;
* The development, implementation and monitoring of project plans, project risks, and enabling delivery and reporting on the requirements and expectations of the management of Defence assets;
* Showing a high degree of judgement in the analysis and reporting of risk and recommending appropriate actions;
* Building and sustaining productive working relationships and;
* Engaging stakeholders and negotiating complex issues to understand requirements and positively influence Defence Logistics Capability outcomes.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. About our Team
You will be part of Joint Logistics Command (JLC) Logistics Capability Branch. The Branch is integral to JLC's mission of enabling Australian Defence Force (ADF) operations and readiness through effective and efficient logistics. Logistics Capability Branch sponsors and manages logistics capability development, delivery and integration through the One Defence Capability System. The Branch is accelerating the development of Theatre Logistics capability in response to the National Defence Strategy and Integrated Investment Program. As a Deputy Director Logistics Capability Projects, you will assist to plan, manage and deliver Theatre Logistics projects and products to uplift Defence’s logistics preparedness and resilience.

* Demonstrated experience in program and/or project management practices and processes
* Experience in the Capability Life Cycle and Capability Development processes
* Highly developed written communication skills with desired experience writing Cabinet, Ministerial, committee and/or senior leadership briefs and papers
* The ability to work within complex and ambiguous environments
* Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
* Have a sound understanding of the Defence Strategic Framework
