Make an impact at Serco In this full time CSSD role at Amberley you will work Monday to Friday a total of 37.5hours a week. As a Sterilisation Technician, you’ll make a positive impact by: You will be responsible for undertaking sterilising services in a dental clinic environment. This includes disinfecting, sterilising and appropriately storing reusable instruments. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary Dental team You will ensure compliance with defence policies and procedures, Australian Standards and National Health and Medical Research Council guidelines. About ADF Health Services In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45 on-base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care. About Amberley RAAF Base Amberley, the largest Air Force Base in Australia and approximately 50 minutes from Brisbane city. It provides operational and maintenance support for the precision strike element of the Air Combat Group, F/A-18F Super Hornet aircraft. Supports the strategic lift capability for the Australian military’s KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT), C-17 Globemaster III heavy lift aircraft and C-27J Spartan battlefield airlifters. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health and pharmaceutical services to over 6500 RAAF members. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Thursday (depending on role requirements), and a half day (5.5 hours) Friday. Please note: If this location is not close to where you reside, we may have flexible working arrangements available including FIFO, hybrid, and locum options. Serco is a place for you You will have a solid knowledge of the requirements and routines of a clinical environment, you enjoy taking control of ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and procedures as well using your excellent communication skills to advise clinical staff on sterilisation matters. To be successful in this role you’ll have: Knowledge of AS/NZ 4187:2014 (Reprocessing of reusable medical devices in health service organisations) and AS/NZS 4815-2006 (Office-based health care facilities – Reprocessing of reusable medical and surgical instruments and equipment, and maintenance of the associated environment). Demonstrated compliance with relevant standards and procedures within field. Certificate III in Sterilisation Technology or nationally recognised equivalent qualification. 1 years’ experience in a central sterilisation department at an approved facility (or part-time equivalent) within the last 5 years Please note: You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role. You don’t need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
