Join our team as a Part-time Assistant Electorate Officer for Mr John Barounis, Member for Maryborough in the Maryborough Electorate Office.
About the role
As an Assistant Electorate Officer, you will work closely with Mr Barounis MP and the Electorate Officer to provide comprehensive support and ensure the smooth operations within the Electorate Office.
You will be responsible for:
* Managing a busy inbox, responding and triaging a significant volume of emails to keep communication on track.
* Maintaining Mr Barounis diary, scheduling appointments, meetings, and events.
* Supporting the Electorate Office staff with administrative functions.
* Managing social media requirements and undertaking occasional graphic design.
* Compiling and publishing newsletters and updates.
* Undertaking research into various issues.
* Liaising with constituents who contact the electorate office for information and assistance.
* Supporting and engaging with community groups directly or through established external forums.
* Ensuring adherence to financial obligations as set by legislation and Parliamentary Service policy and procedure.
About you:
To ensure success in this role, you should possess the following skills:
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with a broad range of clients and stakeholders.
* Comprehensive use of a range of PC software packages.
* Social media management.
* Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
* The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a small team.
