The Gawler Aquatic Centre is the pride of the North, known for its deep community ties and its role as one of Gawler's most beloved community facilities. Featuring a 50-metre outdoor pool, a program and toddler pool, a splash pad, and shaded areas, the Centre offers plenty of outdoor enjoyment for everyone. Recent investments have enhanced this local treasure, including a complete change room redevelopment in 2019/2020 and a new plant room for the 50-metre pool in 2023. Operating from October through April, the Centre offers a wide range of community and council-led programming. A highlight is our thriving Learn to Swim program, which holds a special place in the community by delivering essential swimming lessons and water safety education to local children. Our winter closure allows for focused planning, improvements, and preparations for the next season. What you'll be doing Leading, developing, and implementing engaging aquatic programs for all agesLook for opportunities to maximise pool space in off peak periodsExpanding and enhancing the popular Learn to Swim program to reach even more local familiesCoordinating with internal and external stakeholders for program and facility planningCreating and maintaining effective marketing and promotional materialsEnsuring the Centre operates to industry best practices, with a high commitment to safety and service qualityPromoting and overseeing Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Risk Management systemsProvide leadership and direction to direct reports, and undertake recruitment, training, rostering and evaluation As Aquatic Programs Coordinator, you'll play a key role in delivering top-quality service and managing the Centre's programs. With a strong emphasis on safety and a proactive approach to WHS, you'll ensure that every program—from Aqua aerobics and fitness classes to birthday party bookings and our well-loved Learn to Swim program—runs smoothly and successfully.
