We're looking for a dependable, detail-focused Accounts Officer to join our team in Innisfail. This is a key position within our Finance Department at Trans North Bus & Coach, part of the wider Donric Group, a well-respected name in passenger transport services across Queensland and Victoria.

About the Role Working closely with our General Manager and Group Financial Controller, this role supports the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
You'll take ownership of tasks like:
Payroll processing including PAYG, Superannuation, and Payroll Tax Accounts Payable and Receivable – processing invoices, following up on overdue accounts, and reconciling transactions Bank reconciliations, petty cash, credit card transactions and staff reimbursements Preparation of BAS, Payroll Tax and WorkCover returns Monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting Supporting compliance with financial and legislative requirements General data entry and finance admin Communicating clearly with the GM and external stakeholders as required You'll be given the space to manage your work independently, while being supported by a collaborative finance team at the group level.
About You You're someone who brings a practical mindset and calm, professional presence. You might have worked in similar roles across transport, logistics, admin, agriculture, local government or small-medium business. You don't need to be a recent graduate — we genuinely value life and work experience.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
Proven experience in finance, accounts, or payroll Confidence using MYOB, Microsoft Excel, and standard office systems Experience using FoundU or similar Employee management systems Experience using CoachManager or similar Transport and Logistics Software Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility Ability to work both independently and within a small team Good communication skills — written and verbal A practical understanding of ATO, BAS, Super and payroll compliance A steady, solutions-focused approach to your work A formal qualification in finance or accounting is great, but not essential if you bring real-world experience Why Work With Us?
