Job Summary: In this role, you will plan, develop, coordinate and review plant design and piping work on large projects having specialized requirements. You will optimize facility layout based on diagrams, client needs, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements. Your technical input will ensure configuration compliance, procurement requirements are met, and complex issues are resolved. Major Responsibilities: Evaluates, selects, and applies standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Plans plant and piping layouts and prepares detailed plant and piping designs and drawings for structures (e.g. load sketches and/or orientation and elevation drawings) and portions of major plants. Examines and analyzes pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance. Prepares plant design and piping designs and construction drawings using 2-D / 3-D computer aided design (CAD), presentation graphics and plant design models and codes. Optimizes facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements. Participates in reviews and recommends approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements. Other responsibilities as designated. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge and Skills: Strong technical knowledge of construction piping installation, hydrotesting and pneumatic pipe testing. Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including TEAMWorks, Fighter Tools, INFOWorks or Aconex, BPS or DSCS, PTR or Unifier, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools used on Bechtel projects. Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards is required. Excellent communication and problem-solving ability. Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
