Job Description The Service Centre Advisor (Finance) at Griffith University is responsible for ensuring financial integrity and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. They provide expert advice on finance policies, systems, controls, and processes, and collaborate with colleagues to resolve complex operational and transactional finance issues. This role also involves delivering high-quality service to both internal and external customers, supporting various finance functions, and working flexibly across different finance disciplines to manage team workloads effectively. The Finance Officer is responsible for; Advancing, managing, and protecting Griffith University’s financial integrity and security, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and reporting requirements. Ensuring effective processing and reconciliation of medium to high complexity accounts and transactions, including implementing finance policies, controls, practices, and procedures, and reconciling foreign currency accounts. Collaborating and using professional judgment to identify options and alternatives to solve medium to high complexity operational and transactional issues, including resolving discrepancies in bank receipting and processing student refunds. Communicating interactively with colleagues to respond to queries, solve problems, anticipate needs, share information clearly and proactively, and follow up on unclaimed deposits. You will be well trained and supported in learning all aspects of Griffiths Accounts Receivable team and internal systems. You will then have the opportunity to gain further skills and integrate into the wider Financial Service Delivery team, involving you in such activities as student financials, cash flow organisation and banking relationships. About you To be successful in this role you will hold a diploma or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. You will also have: Demonstrated experience (minimum of 2 years) in Accounts Receivables within in a large corporate, high-volume environment. Expertise in financial management and compliance. Proficiency in processing and reconciling complex accounts, including foreign currency. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. Candidates must have full unrestricted Australian work rights and may be subject to a National criminal history check. What we can offer This is a fixed term (until 27/07/2026), full time position, and can be based at either the Brisbane South (Nathan) or Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other locations. HEW 4 Salary – base range - $71,827.41 - $75,785.75 17% super.
