Join Our Team as a Content Writer at BaptistCare!
Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for making a difference? BaptistCare is looking for a talented Content Writer to join our dynamic Marketing & Communications team on a 14-month fixed-term (full-time) contract (Maternity Leave). If you have a flair for crafting engaging content and want to be part of an organisation that truly values its employees, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Media & Communications, you will play a key role as a marketing storyteller for the BaptistCare brand across our Community Services, Home Care, Residential Aged Care and Retirement living business streams.
Working as part of the Media & Communications team, and closely with our Marketing teams and experts from across our services, you’ll spend each day creating content for various marketing channels including blogs, news stories, social media, brochures and internal campaigns.
Your writing skills are everything, from emotive to factual, influential and guiding, to bringing audiences on a journey as they learn about and connect with our services, as well as employment and fundraising opportunities. At the centre of your writing will be our People First philosophy. Not only will you draft, edit and proof content with your special power of attention to detail, but you understand tone, how to avoid burying the lead, and why brevity is one of the strongest writing skills.
After all that writing, you’ll move on to publishing content across a range of channels including print and digital, as well as overseeing our organic social media strategy, presence and content schedule.
Our tight-knit team have each other’s backs on busy days. You’ll relish managing tasks that come in from various teams, opportunities for challenge, lots of laughs, and a welcoming and supportive environment.
Why Join Us?

About you:
To be considered, you will have:
• Formal qualifications or equivalent experience in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related professional field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related role; planning, writing, editing and producing engaging and influential marketing and story-telling content for a range of channels - preferably in a not for profit organisation.
• Proven ability to write strong, engaging content across a variety of formats, placing the audience at the centre of the content. You’ll also balance speed with attention to detail and accuracy.
• You can transform complex information into clear and compelling messages.
• Experience in digital communications and social media, as well as tools such as website CMS management, social media scheduling, eDM platforms and potentially design software (don’t worry, we have a design team!)
• Some experience in AI and prompt engineering to support the production of content.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, working professionally across multiple teams and stakeholders. You know how to bring people together to achieve a goal and recognise the different skills everyone has, including yours as a storyteller!
• High energy and confidence, with the ability to think fast and work autonomously
• Manage work generated by multiple stakeholders and juggle competing deadlines and time pressures.
• A genuine alignment to BaptistCare’s vision, purpose and values.
