Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on patient care and drive best practice in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC).About The RoleAn exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Infection Control Coordinator, to join our team on a full time basis.Being part of our teams gives you the opportunity to work in the areas you love while also allowing you to further specialise in the clinical areas you want.Joining our team means you'll be supported by great team leaders, be part of a strong, innovative team who always strive for better, and have the opportunity to flourish and grow.About UsEstablished in 2016, Gold Coast Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 339-bed facility located in the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct in Southport.With 22 operating theatres, Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including, but not limited to, 24/7 Emergency Care, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care, and Oncology.Gold Coast Private Hospital is committed to continual growth, providing exciting opportunities and professional career pathways in healthcare.ResponsibilitiesAs an Infection Control Coordinator your responsibilities will include:Overall responsibility and take a leadership role for Infection Prevention & Control practices and strategies.The IPC Manager practices both independently and interdependently, assuming accountability and responsibility for assigned portfolios, under the leadership and support of the Quality and Risk manager.Demonstrate ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team including (but not limited to) Doctors, managers, and members of our community.Have a good understanding of Infection Prevention & Control practices, implementing risk management strategies to protect patients, staff, and visitors.Ensuring the hospital operates in accordance with applicable standards and complies with regulatory and accreditation requirements as well as striving for continuous improvement.The coordination and implementation of the infection control programs including staff health, to ensure high quality patient care and staff safety in infection control.Oversee and encourage Anti-microbial Stewardship.Initiate and maintain the NHHI Hand Hygiene training programs including practical training of staff and validation of data.Essential CriteriaAuthority to Work in Australia.Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent.Current Registration (no restriction) with AHPRA.Immunisation certificate (or working towards).3-years of post-graduation clinical experience as a IPC Coordinator, Public Health or Clinical Nurse in the speciality of Infection Prevention and Control.Demonstrated ability to negotiate, resolve conflict and manage sensitive and complex issues.Knowledge in the application of Infection Prevention and Control Standards to proactively research and provide direction when identifying trends or outbreaks.A solid knowledge of not only auditing, but able to demonstrate how audits can be used to identify any room for improvement and educational opportunities.Understanding of ACQSHC National standards with a focus on Standard 2 & 3.Display confident people skills demonstrating inclusive, proactive, and customer focused development and support.Required to attend regular visitation of our satellite facility – Tweed Day Surgery in NSW.Why Healthscope?When you join Healthscope, you become part of our Community of Care.
