About the Opportunity
As a Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in the Women’s and Babies Division, you will be responsible for:
* Using clinical knowledge and experience to coordinate patient/client care delivery within a Health Unit or Community Service.
* Managing, coordinating, and leading nursing/midwifery and multidisciplinary team activities to ensure continuity and quality of care and outcomes.
* Accepting accountability for nursing/midwifery practices and multidisciplinary outcomes in the specific practice setting.
* Addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy to align with best practices.
* Developing team performance and fostering a positive work culture to enhance patient/client outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife or Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practising certificate.
* Registered Midwife or Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post-graduation experience or currently classified as a Clinical Midwife or Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
* Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing/midwifery practice in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and relevant professional college standards of practice.
* Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to review and improve models of care to be person and family-centred.
* Demonstrated ability to foster a workplace environment that develops staff potential.
