About the Role
As a Team Member, you'll play a vital role in supporting Children and Young People living in Out-of-Home Care at our therapeutic, rural properties, where we focus on a technology-reduced model of care. Your main responsibilities will include engaging with and supporting Children and Young People who exhibit challenging behaviors, helping them achieve their social, educational, cultural, and emotional goals. You'll also oversee their daily care.
Our mission is to equip Children and Young People with new coping strategies and pro-social behaviors to help them transition to a forever home.

About You

As a Team Member, you'll work closely with a supportive team to create a positive and safe home environment. Building authentic connections with our Young People is crucial, as is your commitment to helping them engage safely in community activities and build social networks. You'll also support them in managing trauma-based behaviors, perform daily tasks, and complete all mandatory reporting, adhering to our organization’s policies and procedures.
Daily Tasks May Include:
* Hands-on support in teaching life skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, homework assistance, personal care, and attending appointments
* Developing support plans, including positive behavior plans and progress reports
* Assessing and promoting the development of our Young People
* Liaising with stakeholders to provide updates, assist with plans, and ensure successful outcomes
* Creating activity plans that encourage community engagement
* Safely supporting behaviors using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)
Essential Requirements
* Current Australian Driver's Licence (must be Open or P2)
* Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent (or actively working towards it)
* Availability for shift work (24-hour model), including weekdays, weekends, and sleepovers as scheduled
* Approved Licensed Care Service (LSC) check through the department, or ability to obtain one
* Current Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one
* Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them
* Flexibility to meet the organisation's needs
* Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet specific timeframes and targets
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation, organization, and reporting
* Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite
* Provide two recent professional references
Desirable Attributes
* Understanding of trauma-informed practices
* Previous Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training
* Completion of Hope & Healing modules
* Experience working directly with children and families in a support role
* Current Licensed Care Service (LCS) check through the Department
* Flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn
