About the Role
This position is a 12-month fixed term contract.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting the design and implementation of end user tools which work alongside the group production valuation and systems to enhance the analysis and management reporting under IFRS17;
2. Driving the migration of local reporting onto the group solution for IFRS17;
3. Improving the robustness and integrity of the APRA reporting process;
4. Providing support for projects such as the annual business plan and target capital review, stress and scenario testing and;
5. Completing ad hoc projects related to valuation and reporting.
About You
6. Proven experience in insurance or financial services, preferably corporate actuarial or life & health insurance industry;
7. Experience with life insurance accounting, management reporting and actuarial valuation system implementation is preferred;
8. Possess a Fellow of Australian Institute of Actuaries qualification (or equivalent). Candidates who are almost qualified will be considered;
9. Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle both conceptual and practical issues;
10. Strong verbal and written communication skills;
11. Ability to work independently, good judgement and business insight; and
12. Enjoys team collaboration and contributing to the broader team on local and global business initiatives.
About the Team
Swiss Re Australia's Life & Health Valuation & Analysis team comprises approximately thirty staff across our Sydney and Bangalore offices, responsible for delivering all actuarial reporting requirements and for developing a deep understanding of the diverse and complex reinsurance business in Australia and New Zealand.
Our team aims to proactively provide actionable insights to senior leaders locally and globally. We collaborate with cross functional teams throughout Swiss Re to help deliver efficiently implemented projects and reinsurance offerings to our clients. We are constantly striving to use the latest analytical tools to provide more insights to both our internal stakeholders and our clients, helping achieve our goal of making the world more resilient.
