The WCDH offers a wide range of services including a 3 bed Emergency First Response Unit (EFRU), a 9 bed Sub-acute inpatient ward with a palliative care suite, a 16 bed Residential Aged Care Facility, as well as visiting services. Our community services based out of RCHC include Community Nursing, Adult Day Centres, Home Care Packages, Home Help/Personal Care, and Home Maintenance. The Role:
The West Coast is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join their team.
The Nurse Unit Manager:
* Provides leadership, oversight and management of the activities within the West Coast District Hospital (WCDH) and the Rosebery Community Health Centre (RCHC).
* Supports the efficient and effective provision of care, based on Primary Health Care standards and best practice principles, within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating the clinical, management, education and nursing functions within WCDH and RCHC.
* Leads and manages the coordination of overall patient, resident and client care and is responsible for managing the allocated human, material and financial resources for service delivery within the WCDH and RCHC.
Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from March 2025.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $130,203 - $136,295 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
* Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of $3,699 per annum
* An additional salary allowance of 10% for isolated area.
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Benefits available to eligible candidates:
* Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
* Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
* Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
*As required by the Commonwealth Home Support Program and/or the Aged Care Act, occupants of this role are required to undertake a conviction check assessment every three years.
