The Registrar plays a key role in the School's continued growth by attracting and enrolling new students, directly contributing to both the academic and financial success of the TGS community. About Toowoomba Grammar School TGS was founded in 1875 and is a member school of the Great Public Schools Association of Queensland (GPS). It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of close to 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12. There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. About the Position The Registrar manages the enrolment process, ensuring a seamless experience for prospective and newly enrolled families. Responsible for maintaining a strong enrolment pipeline and meeting enrolment targets, the Registrar’s key duties include managing enquiries, applications, and interviews, organising school tours, and ensuring timely conversion of enrolments. This position also involves liaising with school staff, maintaining accurate enrolment data, and contributing to enrolment marketing and orientation events. Strong communication, customer service skills, and administrative expertise are essential. Selection Criteria: You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to: Relevant Experience and Qualifications: Demonstrated minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Registrar, Enrolments Officer, or similar role, with a Certificate III in Business (Administration) or equivalent industry experience. Experience in a school or educational environment is desirable. Customer Service and Communication Skills: Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and effectively liaise with students, parents, and staff. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to negotiate, build rapport, and maintain positive relationships with families. Administrative and Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office 365, OneNote, Microsoft Teams, and other administrative software. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and use school database systems (e.g., TASS) and maintain accurate enrolment records, data, and reporting. Organisational Skills and Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in managing the enrolment process and related administrative tasks. Demonstrated strong organisational skills to ensure smooth enrolment operations. Ability to Manage Priorities in a High-Volume Environment: Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Professional Attributes and Teamwork: Proactive and motivated with a passion for client service. Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing positively to the team and exercising a high degree of confidentiality.
